The Carson City Railroad Association (CCRA) is a non-profit organization of railroad enthusiasts located in Mills Park , Carson City, Nevada. CCRA operates the Carson & Mills Park riding railroad and two model railroads at the park, as well as a modular "traveling railroad" that we assemble from time to time for free public viewing at events around the Carson City area.
The Carson & Mills Park Railroad is a 2-foot gauge riding railroad that provides train rides for adults and children around Mills Park on summer weekends. Tickets may be purchased at the Mills Park Station. A snack bar selling packaged drinks and snacks is also available for your convenience. Please check our schedule for operating dates. The railroad is operated entirely by volunteer members of the Carson City Railroad Association (CCRA), and ticket proceeds go toward maintenance and improvement of the railroad.
Inside the Depot is an operating HO-scale model railroad and a new N-scale model railroad. The HO model railroad is 12x24 feet and includes a narrow gauge HOn3 operation. The public is welcome to view it whenever the outside railroad is in operation.
The Association holds a business meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at the Mills Park depot. The public is welcome to join us, space permitting. Meetings start at 7 PM and generally last about one hour. Operating sessions for the HO model railroad are held on Wednesday evenings except for the Wednesday following our business meeting.
